Broek in Waterland is one of the most beautiful well kept secrets Holland has to offer to visitors that want more than the usual.

Just outside Amsterdam on the road to Edam and Marken, only 10 minutes by public bus from Amsterdam Central Station, Broek in Waterland is to be discovered because of the beautiful wooden houses originating from VOC times in the 16^th century.

Around this in those days world famous village many stretches of little waterways, running through the green fields with Dutch cows and lovely little places like Zuiderwoude and Monnickendam, offer you the finest possibility to enjoy the beauty of Holland in a pure way.

A relaxing trip with a silent electric boat is an excellent way to travel trough this protected area, not disturbed by noise from an engine. A kayak or Canadian canoe is also ideal for trips in a more sportive manner.

The different stretches are marked and a map will help you to find your way. And if needed life jackets are available for free.

Make your choice: Rent  a boat or canoe

At Kano & Electroboot Waterland you can choose between different kinds of electric boats ( whisper boats) and a number of canoes. Electric boats seat 5 persons each, do not require experience and an explanation of boat and map will be given to you before sailing.  Kayaks are available in single or double. Canadian canoes seat 3 or 4 persons and you can ask for a little casket for putting away you valuables in a watertight manner.

Please do not bring your dog as they are not admitted on the boats.

For skippers with a little more sailing experience we offer for rent beautiful “sloops” with steering wheel, seating even 7 persons on nice seats with bleu cushions supporting your back.

CANOE :You can step in the canoe of your own choice between 9.00 – 17.00 hrs. at  only € 10,- per person and sail as long as you like.

Electric Boat:

• Normal boat, 4 – 6 persons, minimum period 2 hrs, at € 16,- per hr.
  4 hrs €  60,- 
  Whole day/ 7 hrs. € 80,-

Caution per boat € 50,-

• Sloop with steering wheel, 4 – 6 persons, minimum period 3 hrs, 
  per hr.  30,-
  4 hrs € 105,- 
  7 hrs €   150,-

Opening hours: April, May, June and September: Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00 - 18.00 hrs.
In July and August also open on Monday and Tuesday.

Buslines: Amsterdam CS busstation, lines 110 ,111, 114, 115, 116 . You need 4 “strips” from the strippencard.

By bike: Amsterdam CS free ferry to A’dam –North, straight across, leaving the ferry ride straight ahead and follow the signs Broek in Waterland (45 minutes appr.)
